Installing standoffs on external NVME/NGFF SATA or USB Drives?
I bought this off of ebay. It contains 1 NGFF slot and 1 NVME slot for an SSD. My SSD's are 2280.

The problem is that to hold down the SSDs, they have rubber plugs which fit into the hole on the board.
I prefer metal holdowns with screws.
Thus I'm trying to update this device so that I don't need rubber plugs that will not holdup over time.
The standoffs I got from amazon and other websites don't list what the hold down thread diameter is.
Thus my standoffs are either two small (2mm) or to big (I presume 3mm) and thus won't screw into the
hole on the USB SSD drives circuit board (This isn't the SSD board that you plug in). I don't want to fill the hole with lock tight or something else so the 2mm standoff when put into the hole won't fall out. It should screw into the hole so that it won't spin when tightening the screw that holds down the SSD.
Are there any SSD standoffs so that the thread diameter is about 2.5mm when screwed onto the drives circuit board.
Note: This isn't the standoffs screw size, nor the height between the top and bottom of the standoff.

one possibility is threaded inserts.
