Fans for cooling are a thing of the past? New efficent technology

This isn't brandnew news but certainly an interesting topic, Frore Systems apparently developed a new "device" that has the potential to replace the current cooling options for computer hardware.
    For reference see their website
Frore Systems or this video youtube.com/watch?v=vdD0yMS40a0

Whats the status of this new technology, does it really have the potential to replace current cooling systems and if so when can we expect to see computer hardware with Frore AirJet Cooler builtin?
How are chances that the next generation of nvidia-amd-intel graphics cards / amd-intel cpus will offer atleast some models with this frore system cooling instead of traditional air fans / water pumps?
If froresystem is to be taken seriously, their device does a better job at cooling compared to fans while also producing basically near zero noise (10 db if i remember correctly).
The only reason i can think of which might hold this tech back is the current cooling-marked does everything in its power to sell more fans / fight competition.

    Welcome to TenForums!

This product is in production. The first system to use it is a system by Zotac. It actually has a lot of advantages over fans, especially in laptops. If I recall from the info I had seen, it's not yet suitable for a desktop system.

EDIT: For clarification, I believe that they had said it's not to the point of replacing the case fans yet. As for the likes of a GPU, I don't know. It's been a while since I dove into the details.

That amazing news and sad at the same time this isnt ready for desktop yet, i had my hopes up for nvidia 50 series gpus with this new cooling tech, heck even a full desktop pc!
I say keep dreaming, who knows in 5 or 10 years it will be the new standard.

Are the Zotac coolers in any real computers yet? It all comes down to cost and reliability. If they are cost effective then you will eventually see them used by computer manufacturers. Until then they will only remain a curiosity.

They said that when they discovered the Peltier effect but that kinda stopped in it's tracks.

They are not Zotac coolers. Zotac is the first company to implement this in a real product. It is made by Frore Systems. Below are a couple of videos regarding this device. The second video is brand new from CES 2024.

You can already tell just by looking at the housing that its not suitable for desktops it will be use case for a while imo where it will shine in laptops and single board scenarios.

Computers are a conglomerate so if the tech gains traction then it won't get held back. The race is a collaborative one so companies know there is money to make from embracing innovation instead of trying to hold it back. This has always been the case.

Something new comes along and if its good then it becomes a common standard. The fan companies will just make their own versions of the device if this thing becomes normal.

The divide is simple computer want to go smaller until they have to go bigger again. The device in question will suit nuc style and sff computers but its not going to suit bigger computer i don't think. The innovation is about going smaller but physics and science means that we will at some point go bigger again. The fastest computers and parts at this time are going bigger not smaller,

while the smaller computers are getting really fast but they are going to have a definitive ceiling imo just like going bigger does but going bigger means more real estate to put things on. Thermal dynamics are already a hard line in the sand so we need to go bigger for this reason. This device suits going smaller but that is quicker diminishing returns imo. I think atm its early prototype tbh so hard to say.

NVIDIA's recent server CPU are like the size of phone which is big and this is because everything needs to be close to the LGA which is there is no closer than on the LGA itself. This in turn means that really for bleeding edge we are going to be seeing computers that are going to be going a lot bigger than this in the near future. if this tech can adapt to that then it will take off.

Computers started out as rooms i think one day we will be back at that very outcome unless we come drastically with new tech in time. Well actually the first computers where like mechanical engines but the first electronic based computers where the size of rooms.
