Ready to take the plunge... Quick question Zip or Unzip

Bios updates is in a zip format, do I just copy over as a zip folder to the USB drive or unzip it first?

if you have a file named PH61MPR0.ROM on the fat32 ub stick, apparently it is found automatically and will take you straight to ez flash.
the purpose of this is for when bios has crashed and you cant get into it the normal way

    1. Turn on the system.
    2. Insert the support DVD to the optical drive or the USB flash drive that contains the
BIOS file to the USB port.
    3. The utility automatically checks the devices for the BIOS file. When found, the utility
reads the BIOS file and enters ASUS EZ Flash 2 utility automatically.

presumably if it is not named PH61MPR0.ROM then you have to select to go into bios ( whatever the F key is ) then into ez flash, then select P8H61-M-PRO-ASUS-4S32.ROM

I am pretty sure that when I updated the bios on my old asus p8h61 i went into bios using the f key > ez flash and then selected whatever the rom file was on the usb stick. I don't remember using the renaming trick to get it go into ez flash automatically.

    Update

Ran ASUS EZ Flash Utility > Found USB drive > found both files (ROM's) > chose first .ROM (P8H61-M-PRO-ASUS-4S32.ROM)

Message: Do you want to read this file
    Clicked OK
Error message: "Image Integrity check failed"
    I tried the second.ROM (PH61MPR0.ROM)
Message: Do you want to read this file
    Clicked OK
Error message: "Image Integrity check failed"

Have tried two different USB drives/sticks same results...

    Any thoughts anyone

One of the reasons for the Error message: "Image Integrity check failed" I read that maybe the bios sequence was incorrect, so I tried older bios .ROMs as below
    P8H61-M-PRO-ASUS-4502
    P8H61-M-PRO-ASUS-4602
    P8H61-M-PRO-ASUS-4702
    P8H61-M-PRO-ASUS-4802

Sadly all the above gave the same Error message: "Image Integrity check failed"

    Any thoughts anyone

Make sure the USB stick is formatted as FAT32, then just drag and drop the BIOS files on the USB stick.
