How do i get my CPU down in temperatures ?

Hello. My old pc died because it got to hot, so recently i bought a new pc and one of the first things i did was checking what temperatures it would reach, because i dont want that to happen again and just by doing a simple task like running Windows full virus scan it was reaching +90 degrees celcius and ive been researching and from what i undertand your CPU shouldnt reach higher that 80 degrees celcius under maximum load, so i contacted the shop where i bought it and Intel about it and Intel told me to update the BIOS (i did that and it didnt fix the problem) they then said that if it didnt fix the problem, both them and the shop told me to change the CPU with a new one of same model (i7-12700F) and get a better CPU cooler instead of the stock one and no matter what i will change the CPU, because i obviously dont want a CPU that there is something wrong with, but id like to save the money for a new CPU cooler for something else, if its possible, so my question is if there is any way for me to get my CPU down in temperature without changing the cooler, without loosing performance and my pc being to loud, i have set my fans to go to 100 at 50 degrees celcius in BIOS, but i still hit +81 degrees celcius doing virus scan, i can then set my pc in power saver mode and it will only 64 degrees celcius doing a scan, but that takes off way to much performance i think ? id like to have my pc on either balanced or high performance. Also Intel is telling me that i need a cooler with at least 180 watt, but the shop where i bought the pc is saying that BE QUIET PURE ROCK 2 is more than enough (its less than 180 watt though) and im thinking Intel is right, since they made the CPU, so they should know best, but i want to hear other peoples opinion on that aswell.

and then this is the rest of my specs:

    the case is NZXT H510
cpu: Intel i7 12700F with stock cooler
16 GB RAM (i think its DDR4, but im not sure and i dont know where to check that)
    2x 2 TB SSD KINGSTON SNVS2000G
i think the motherboard is ASUS B660 or something like that ? i dont where to check that (cant find it in device manager)

    the pictures is:

    1. Pictures of fans except for the 2 under the GPU

2 & 3. Scr shot from HWMonitor showing the temperatures under my ''normal'' workload wich is: PrivadoVPN, Spotify, ZoneAlarm, CoreTemp and Intel Driver Support Assistant open down in the right corner and a few documents and the picture with higher temperatures is from after during a virus scan.

The 12700F is a 65W CPU, so a better CPU cooler is the answer.
Also, I can't tell from your pic, what all the case fans you have... are.

Generally air cooling works like this. Keep the room temp down to something like 65F max.
Make sure your case has enough fans and that they are doing their job.
Lastly... get a decent CPU cooler.

Intel stock coolers... are that good.

This is about the cheapest "decent" CPU air cooler you can get in Denmark...

For the NZXT H510 case you should have...

2x 140mm fans for front intake.
1x 140mm fan for top exhaust
and the included rear exhaust fan.

Make sure the fan(s) have their airflow in the proper direction and make sure you clean the cases dust filters regularly.

Here's a pic of my case showing the proper "directions" for air flow...
This is a full tower case, so you won't have all these fans... but the airflow direction is what's important.

the shop where they will change the CPU with a new one only have theese coolers for this case: BE QUIET PURE ROCK 2 or CORSAIR H100x WATERCOOLER, 240MM. Would any of thoose be good enough ?

when i turn of the pc i will check what the fans are, but the one of the cpu is the stock one, the other 2 i havent paid anything for, so i think they coming with the case ? But i will turn it off to check if i can see anything, unless there is somewhere on the pc i can find info about my fans ?

i dont have anything to measure the temperature of my room with, but its definitely not hot, i remember when i was my moms place and it was 20-30 degrees celcius inside, i would have t-shirt or a sweatshirt on and at home i have like 3 sweatshirts on at home, so its probably 15-20 degrees celcius ?

Either of those coolers should be fine for a 65w CPU.

I have an air cooler like the Pure Rock 2 on my 65W CPU and I can't get the CPU temp over 75C no matter what I do.

The high CPU temps could also just be a bad application of thermal paste.

I am not seeing any problems in the temps. Everything is below 50 Celsius. Disregard stuff like aux. CPU and GPU temps are what really matters.

how do i know what mm fans i already have ? Isnt 140 the standard ? But that means i should get 2 in the front pointing in the same direction as on the picture of your case, the top one and the rear one is blowing the air in the right direction already. Also damn you have alot space, 12 TB and then Win 10 and Win 11, damn bro. I clean my pc outside every 2nd week and everything inside every 2 months atm. Might change it (i have a dog and smoke, so have to do it more often than other people)

good to hear that one of those coolers should be good enough, but what kind of front fans should i be looking for ?

under 75 degrees celcius would be nice.

yeah could be the thermal paste aswell, but they gonna give me a new CPU no matter what and im sure they will make sure to put on enough thermal paste this time for sure, so this doesnt happen again haha.

Fans are measured across the center, to the ends of the blades. In other words the width of the cowling (the part around the blades).

In this case we are concerned with 120mm (~5 inches) or 140mm (~6 inches).
The difference in the two sizes is this... at the same rpm a bigger fan can move more air than a smaller one.
Or... at the same amount of air flow... the larger fan will be quieter.

Here's all the NZXT case fans (120mm and 140mm). For 120mm fans look for cfm (cubic feet per minute), of about 80 cfm.
For 140mm fans look at fans with about 95 cfm. In either case... try to stay under 30dBa noise level.

So, for the two front fans... I would suggest this...
    NZXT F140Q 101 CFM 140 mm Fan (RF-Q14SF-B1) - PCPartPicker

They'll move a LOT of air, and they'll do it quietly. I think just adding the two front "intake" fans will solve a lot of your problems.
The CPU cooler can only push the air it has available. The two front fans will give it... all the air it needs.

Right now the CPU cooler is probably starved for air.
I know your case has air holes along the bottom, but your vid card is using most of that air.

Meanwhile your CPU cooler is holding his bowl up to the headmaster saying: "Please sir, I want some more".

SPECCY is a nice program for your specs...
Also get more details by clicking on the blue text.

About Temperatures: Also consider taking action against THE DUST.. Dust is the PCs worst enemy, and it will also generate heat and higher temperatures. Keep the PC elevated, not put it on the floor or under a table.

And please, to not clean the dust inside the case with the POWER ON.......please, don't do that.
