    Old-ish Thermal Paste Question

years ago, on top of getting an anti-static mat and wrist-strap combo, i bought some arctic mx-4 thermal paste on amazon, this was on October 28, 2017. i stored both the wrist strap and the thermal paste in the bubble-wrap lined shipping pouch/envelope/(whatever the eff its called), and the thermal paste has been sitting there in a drawer for a LONG time. i pulled it out, worked the cap off of it, dab'd a bit of it on some paper, and looking at it.....seems fine, but i defer to tenforums and its users

considering it hasnt seen use in well over 4+ years (last bit of use it had was to replace some of the thermal paste from our GPUs after i took them apart and dusted/cleaned them), would the thermal paste i still have be good to keep using on whatever it can be used on, desktop wise and beyond, or should i consider getting a new tube and tossing the old stuff in the trash?

As long as you sealed it properly... it's fine.
Thermal compound doesn't really "go bad". It either dries out or it doesn't.

Just cook it until there's no pink inside. <----- kidding.

I also use Arctic Silver and it doesn't 'age' in the tube, a pencil eraser size dollop in the center of the CPU and let clamping the heat sink down spreads it evenly without air gaps.

As an addition...I have removed the front plate of my Desktop and then pressed it against the window pane, and it is tight. It is in the place where the blossoms should have been.... Keeps the temperature well down, yes.
