Platforms ,Upgrade Paths and Current Hardware Potential

Well given the certain circumstances of Hardware Prices and cost for New Platforms let's dive into a valid discussion if you currently own anything from Intel Z490 Z590 or even a Z690 AMD X470 X570

    Intel CPU's I9-9900K I9-10 Series I9-11 Series I9-12Gen AMD CPU's 2600X 2700X 3600X 3700X 3900X 3950X 5000Series
    GPU's from 1050Ti on up to 30 Series AMD 580 /5600xt 5700xt on up 6000 Series
    Monitor Sizes 1080p Ultra refresh 1440p Ultrawide1440p 4K

This is a rundown of what most people are using to game with today.
Now these hardware combinations come in all forms and since most use a lower end CPU Upgrading to a more powerful one on the same platform seems to be more inviting then ever vs New Platform cost and New Ram plus depending on GPU PSU reliability for a new 4090
    Thoughts ?????
As for me i have X570 and Z590 and game mostly on my tuned 10850k@5.1Ghz and ram @3866Mhz paired with a 3090 on a 100Hrz Ultrawide only thing i see needed is a new Monitor that's about it and maybe a NVME overhaul to some super fast one's other then that i'm pretty solid
    I also own 3950x 5900x 5950x 3700x

Redundant? 9th gen is still good any gen past 775 is still good and all gens past 775 can play games if you know how to finesse them and also stay within the bounds of your platform, like don't expect miracles from a rock mentality example trying to do 4k on a GPU that won't do 4k.
I would not be overly concerned putting a 4090 on a 9th gen as this is basically what the underlying premise is here?

Its basically taken us 20 years literally to go from 4ghz to 5ghz and that is not even base clock everything else is just hype when we crunch performance numbers its in the milli seconds figuratively speaking here and unless you are moneybags then its unrealistic to stay on top of the curve 100% with computers.

The computer market is also influenced heavily and those people push all the new tech it makes people feel left behind on purpose that way people get stuck in this want to constantly upgrade to feel like they need too in all reality its just marketing gimmick at play and many generations of computers are still mega viable. Imo anything 4th generation onward is still mega powerful if you know what you are doing sure on paper many earlier gens are redundant now but that does not really translate in real world scenarios.

I have just about evey gen there is from 775 up so this is coming from first hand experience. What i am trying to say is that your 9th generation computer is far from redundant.

I completely agree that is the purpose of this post to stop people from trying to keep up ,when there is no reason too
Especially if you're not using a 4K monitor i remember the days of bottom line hardware that was tough back then now it's not really a big deal.
Even the most budget card these days can play 1440p with little to no issues.

Far as the CPU goes overclocking basically catches up to the speed the new stuff anyway it's always 5-25% and overclocking closes the gap and good memory.

I have seen DDR4 vsDDR5 systems and seriously DDR5 isn't that much impressive if a DDR4 machine can still crank out just as much frames and better latency all around.

One more point Nvidia Reflex is available for all 30 series cards DLSS 3,0 isn't a deal breaker the raw performance of a 4090 without DLSS is only 15-25% over a 3090ti non overclocked so that says a lot

I would buy a AMD card this time around if the prices are right and the uplift is matchable to 4090 or better without gimmicky software and size lol

I still get decent frame rates at 2560x1440 pixels with my i5-3570K CPU, 16GB RAM and a RTX 2060 Super GPU!

I keep thinking of upgrading but will keep this PC until it's too slow. I guess Windows 10 going out of support will force me to upgrade eventually.
