SATA Cable Experiment - Does Quality Affect SSD Performance

This video prove that quality of sata cable affect ssd performance, assuming hdd and optical drive as well.
Anyone has replace their stock sata cable with after market high quality/performance cable ?
Which one did you get and is there any improvement ? Anyway i'm stll on sata for ssd and optical,
it's good enough for my gaming need.

A lot is due to cross talk were the data gets effected by RF or other noise

The video concludes there is no discernable difference between the cables he tested.

Which is the same conclusion that every SATA cable test has reached that I have seen.

2:45 no difference and 3:45 no difference in cables.

No, your video that you posted proved just the opposite. A SATA cable is a SATA cable and they pretty much either just work or they don't. Did you actually watch the video?

You should not ask yourself the question about the quality of the cables named "high quality/performance cable" or other, of any type, otherwise one day you will believe it and you will spend a lot for cables that are supposedly better than the cheaper ones. That said, I don't know all the types of cables, it may be that for some cables, spending a little more is preferable. Also with the "made in china", I have nothing against china but in some china manufactures, in expansion in china for a while now, the quality can be very poor and it is possible to come across poor quality cables . However, you should not spend a lot on cables, you have to find the right ones that are cheap and of good manufacturing quality.

I agree, and so sata cable with better quality build would reject RF and noise better and therefore improve performace
    right ?

During the days of IDE devices with ribbion IDE cables. These cables come in difference quality build and gauges.
I always go for the best quality guild and biggest gauge because i think that make a difference.
So you're right, i agree with you.

Sorry i watched the video without the sound turn on. I just look at the difference in benchmarking test score tested with
    difference sata cable.

If at the time the different quality of ribbion IDE cables came from their consortium it's fine otherwise it's not certain that it was real.

Difficult for a consumer to find the right manufacturer, it is better to choose the right brands and look at consumer reviews if possible.

Nope. You would have to find a shielded SATA cable to reduce/eliminate RF noise and improve signal to noise ratio. SATA cables are not shielded.

The exception are eSATA cables which are shielded. I have a 6-foot eSATA cable that looks like this:

I an old SATA HDD enclosure with USB 2.0 and eSATA connections. I used it to connect to my old computer whose motherboard had an eSATA connector. Back then eSATA made sense since it was faster than USB 2.0.
