    CPU overheating 89/90c


    CPU overheating 89/90c

    CPU sometimes on startup ... error message as above press F1

    Dismantled radiator, fan and heatsink thoroughly cleaned, reassembled with fresh thermal paste.
    Still the same temp.
    Win vers 21H1
    Intel i7 6700
    GPU GeForce 980 gtx

    If the Fans are working, maybe you can add more fans if the case supported.

    Thanks for the replies.
    Front fan ingress rear fan exhaust both working.
    Will look into adding a fan directly at heatsink if possible.

    If you're running the stock Intel fan on the CPU... you need to upgrade to a serious fan.
    Something like this, maybe...

    Noctua NH-U14S 82.52 CFM CPU Cooler (NH-U14S) - PCPartPicker


    You'll need to check the height allowance on your case, ofc.
    This particular cooler needs 165mm from the top of the CPU to the side of the case.

    Hi there, you may have a weak CPU cooler for your CPU, consider upgrading to a beefier solution.
