I didn't realize how well this worked until....
I was forced into a situation between my clumsy wife and dangerous toddler who LOVES to help daddy fix his computer, even when it doesn't need fixed, to where I HAD to put my build up high and safe from short people.
Stuck in a corner behind 3 TV's and a stereo it was getting warm while gaming. The average temp was 82c for both the CPU & GPU. The fans were maxed out and it clearly wasn't happy. So I made a way for it to suck in room temp air during the summer while the A/C was on full blast.
I didn't put much thought into it so it could look a lot better, but it works, and that's all that matters to me.
Those temps are from extending the intake directly into the window sucking in the super cold Ohio winter air. I ran it like that all winter and there wasn't a single drop of condensation.
It's summer and I keep the window A/C at 64f all day and night. My temps average around 60c even while gaming in 4k and the GPU's very noticeable coil whine. Well now I have a NEW threat, my 10 month old baby boy who's always crawling around unplugging things. I didn't realize just how well this intake was until he unplugged the fan....
I didn't notice until ALL the fans started ramping up to jet engine decibels. There's three 6k rpm fans on top and I'm glad I have them because these SZKing case fans just don't pull much air at all. They look nice though!
