    What's a good cooler for an 8700k?

    I just recently started having issues with my 8700k getting hot enough (46 c) to the point my game froze. I am currently using Aresgames River 5 as my main cooler and I also have 3 120mm fans (2 in the front and 1 for the exaust) the case I have is an h510 flow and according to the specs of the case it fits a 60mm rad.

    What would be a better cooler for gaming with the 8700k?

    The Aresgames River 5 looks to be a pretty decent cooler, and 46c is not really that hot.
    Intel's specification for "Throttle" temperature for the i7 8700K is 100°C (212°F).
    If 46c is all the hotter it is getting while gaming, I would not think that would cause lockups.

    @smirk24

    I also agree that 46C CPU temp, is NOT what made your game freeze.
    I don't know which game we are discussing, but I would look for a different cause. GPU temp, maybe?

    On a side note: Corsair for whatever reason makes a 120mm rad called the H60.
    It messes a lot of people up.
