    I did something stupid...

I was doing some dusting and cable management when I forgot to plug in the sata power for the H150i Pro. I started up the computer and it booted all the way into Windows then shut off before I realized what a stupid stupid thing I did.

Now I don't know if I damaged the 5950x but temps are down 10c at idle and 7c while gaming since before I took it apart. There wasn't a huge amount of dust. Certainly not enough to be featured on Greg Salizar's Free PC Cleaning YouTube channel.

I'm running Cinebench R23 for 10 mins and temps haven't gone beyond 65c which used to sit around 74c. 138.4W. Score; 24699

Did I damage the CPU or did the heat actually do a good thing?

Lower = Better, so I don't think you did anything wrong.

If you damaged the CPU, which you didn't, you would see a drastic change in the Cinebench scores, which you won't.

Computers these days protect the CPU by just shutting it down, when the temps get too high.
So before damage can occur the CPU shuts off.

The Ryzen 9 5950X Maximum Operating Temperature is 90C. Once it starts reaching or surpasses 90C the processor will automatically start to slow down or throttle to keep the temperate at 90C or below. If it can't and the temperature reaches a critical range it will automatically shut down the processor and computer to prevent overheating damage.

The "reason" your CPU is running cooler now, is because you cleaned the dust out of the computer.

In fact, these days, there's only a few things that CAN damage a CPU.
Factory defect, breaking the pins off, or running the CPU voltage too high for an extended period.
I guess hitting it with a hammer could damage it also.
