    CPU


    looking to get a new pc going I am looking at a 11700k I7/bundle
    what would be the AMD equivalent CPU and would you go AMD or INTEL

    I'm an Intel freak so, if you ask me your choice is very good. They can run 5.5GHz all the time with a good fat heatsink.

    It's AMD counterpart would be something like a Ryzen-7 5800X.

    I have always been an Intel freak myself. In 2009 I put together a first gen Intel i7 with the X58 chipset on an EVGA motherboard. That rig was cutting edge in its time an served me well for over 10 years. In 2020 I decided it was time for a new build and as tough as it was, I decided to go AMD. I have Been very happy with my AMD build and two days ago I upgraded to the Ryzen 9 5950X. Personally I do not think you could go wrong whichever you chose, Intel or AMD. A good representation can be found on this forum Benchmark Cinebench Leader Board the top 10 is a good mix of both processor types with AMD being the number one slot.
