Honestly, it isn't any less or more than I expected. Pretty cool for $70 with shipping and all.

Did it cause the vid card temps to rise?

Not one single degree. It vents out the side of the card. There's nothing on top but smooth plain metal. With the magnetic stick-ons it leave a few mm for venting if it needs to.

Nice. I remember back in the GTX 580 days... they released a backplate for that card, and it put the temps through the roof.

I'm also cheating in a way.... sucking the freezing cold air from outside, sending it through the tower, and spitting out cool air through the top radiator. Got my 6900xt down to 9c the other night. But even without the oversized redneck cooler, it hasn't risen.

    That's not cheating
Could be some extra moisture though. & thank you for answering the temp question. I mean you look at these cards, and they do look sharp but it sure seems like they would insulate the gpu.

It went all winter without a single drop of condensation. I plan to do it again next winter but with a cleaner more efficient setup.
