I feel this move will scare people into getting next gen with Nvidia period, either way you treat your cards right there's no worry and just wait till it's time to upgrade.

Really a weird development in the industry. Let's see how the next gen launch goes

I'm skipping this generation, my 3090 Stric OC Gaming is way more than enough.
But! meanwhile in Germany: Just a moment...

7000 series is not exciting me as much as I hoped. My 5600X has been perfect except for recent needs for more cores. I think I will be buying a 3900X/X570 from a friend to hold me over for another year. I just want X570 for the gen4 M.2 and another M.2 slot. I have a Asus B450 Prime currently.

I've been comparing the specs of the new Z790 chipset vs the Z690 and the only differences seem to be support for 13th gen processors, and WiFi 6E on board.
I'll be doing a deeper dive soon.

You would be better served to sell the 3900x and get a 5900x for $360.00 AMD Ryzen 9 5900X Vermeer 3.7GHz 12-Core AM4 Boxed Processor - Heatsink Not Included - Micro Center
