Looking for a What-If Build (PCPartPicker)

A while back, I made a pcpartpicker system build list and saved it, thinking that I could get at least half of the parts cheaper if I hunted them down myself (used or slightly new) instead of always taking the auto-chosen selections when clicking add, yet then and now I got vibe checked hard, and its making me feel like crap, so if anyone is willing to help, i'd appreciate it

The purpose of this is just to compile a system build/"what-if" list and nothing more, whether the chosen parts are unavailable or their price jumps up a bit or goes down because of some promotional thngy or whatever, it doesnt matter. The ONLY requirement(s) is that the build be centered around the i9-12900K cpu, have at least 32 GB of ram (whether its a 4x8GB or 2x16GB setup), and the GPU is an nvidia GPU, I will provide my current stats ala screenshot and a list of what I consider my failed attempt at making a what-if list (feel free to use this as a base to start with or go fresh, your call). Some items will be missing from this failed list, but those were voluntary removals because I thought I could get them cheaper from ebay, or newegg, whether it still had a manufacturers warranty or not. PEripherals are not needed, ill simply bring the ones from my current setup over. Also, it doesnt matter if the setup won't be super 4k/8k resolution capable, if it can handle 1080p max resolution and maybe broach the 2k range a bit, i'd be happy whether that uses a gtx card or an rtx card

Don't buy a Zotac vid card.
    Or a Cooler Master PSU
NZXT AIO cooler are just about the best.
EVGA has some kind of method to sign up for a vid card. An RTX 3060 MSRP is $329

that was weird, tenforums glitched out on me for a hot minute and didnt show the last of your reply, but I see it now, and ill keep that link saved. For the record, which card in the gtx range is slightly better than the gtx 1080 if I wanted to hopefully go cheaper and not the RTX route?

at one point, I did have it at the z690 gigabyte board there, but I kept seeing reviews on how it has a bevy of problems with it and it influenced me to choose the motherboard on my last list. ill keep the list you made as is, but i'd like a substitute choice just in-case that dies on me somehow

Those User Benchmarks up above show you what the vid cards are supposed to cost...if there weren't any scalpers.

Newegg.com has something called: Newegg Shuffle. It's like a lottery for buying vid cards at the MSRP.

Thank you; if it isnt too much trouble, I also tried making a what-if build (AMD CPU/GPU focused) for my father when he aims for his new computer, and i'd appreciate if you or someone else that may be watching this thread to check it out and make adjustments. the premise with this build is something that will be good enough to do most steam platform games (now and future) and or other PC based games at a 1080p based resolution. He wouldn't be a heavy hardcore always gaming person, probably would only play about a handful's worth of video games and use his new desktop for ancestry based work and watching videos from youtube, twitch, etc, for entertainment. light to moderate gaming, moderate to heavy video watching, the rest filled in with self-assigned work based activities and somesuch

Requirements: must be AMD CPU and GPU focused, have a minimum of 32 GB of RAM (4x8GB or 2x16GB), able to do light/moderate gaming, moderate/heavy video watching, misc other stuff. resolution capabilities of the GPU must support at the minimum 1080p resolution as crisp and clean as the GPU/CPU pair can muster, and at least a little bit above. IF the computer case is changed, it must have the ability to host ONE single optical drive (will either reuse his DVD-based default optical drive or i'll get him a copy of my blu-ray capable optical drive), and be able to handle at least one/two 2.5" laptop sized SSD drive(s) (got him two to move to a pure SSD based setup) by way of some kind of bracket system. A single NVMe SSD for OS booting and either one more for pure storage reasons, or just the single NVMe SSD. Stats provided by screenshot, the ONLY difference with it and his current setup now, is that his computer uses a GTX 960 video card that I previously used in mine, and his current OS is Windows 10 Pro by way of the refresh install/upgrade that I did with a windows 10 iso I had on hand
