    i have a GIGABYTE GA-H270-Gaming 3 ATX 1151 7th Gen DDR4 Motherboard and was wondering how can i upgrade motherboard while being compatible with my components on my current one

    Compare the specs of the your motherboard with the motherboard you are thinking about upgrading to. If the new motherboard supports your hardware, you can use that hardware. (ie) if it Supports 7th/ 6th Generation Intel® Core™ Processors, you can use that processor. etc

    Just any 1151 socket board.
    Although you don't say which processor you have currently.

    As mentioned, any socket 1151 motherboard would work. However, due to the fact that 1151 socket motherboards are getting old, the prices are going through the roof.

    I suggest you get a new motherboard, CPU and RAM. Something like this maybe...
