Question about a New AMD Ryzen 5600 Build components

    Hello,

I'm looking at this as a build:
CPU AMD Ryzen 5 5600G 6-Core 12-Thread Unlocked Desktop Processor with Radeon Graphics
Motherboard MSI MPG X570 GAMING PLUS Motherboard (AMD AM4, PCIe 4.0, DDR4, SATA 6Gb/s, M.2, USB 3.2 Gen 2, HDMI, ATX)
    RAM Crucial Ballistix 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR4-3200 CL16 Memory
Power Supply Corsair RM (2019) 650 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply
    SSD/NVMe Crucial P5 Plus 1TB PCIe 4.0 3D NAND NVMe M.2 SSD, up to 6600MB/s - CT1000P5PSSD8

PC PartsPicker: Warning! Some AMD X570 chipset motherboards may need a BIOS update prior to using Cezanne CPUs. Upgrading the BIOS may require a different CPU that is supported by older BIOS revisions.

Is the X570 the latest chipset?

Also says build estimated Wattage is 174W
I know you need to allow for more wattage so 650 seems more then enough, is it too much? I'll have a DVD Burner and a couple of internal SSD's and HDD's, at least 2 external drives (they have own power), I have a MSI R7 250 2GD3 OC 1.8 GHz 2GB DDR3 Video Graphics Card (I may get a newer Video card once they come down in price)

    Thanks,
    Loki

    1. Please don't use light grey color for your post. Just leave the text color to the default black.
    2. AMD has a short term Processor loan program to be able to flash your BIOS if needed.

X570 is the latest, in the high end AMD chipsets at the moment.

For that build, a 650W power supply will be plenty sufficient. Even with a 3070 video card you would still be okay. It's certainly not too much, I wouldn't go smaller.

Look for a newer X570S motherboard which doesn't have a chipset fan
