    New Alder Lake CPUs

Who is going to be first to report they have built a PC using the new Intel Alder Lake CPU and a Z690 board with DDR5 memory?

I'm just curious as to why only a single stick of ddr5?
Is dual channel not a thing anymore with ddr5 or something?

    peace

I'll be honest with you guys lol
I started building a system part list but crucial parts aren't available namely Ram and the CPU
I went ahead and put a Z690 Strix-E on Newegg and didn't see any combo's or anything.
Now after seeing Gaming results vs pretty much knowing multi thread it would win is really unimpressive
so with that gem ,i wouldn't waste my time unless you have content that needs like 45 seconds shaved off from a 5950x then go ahead but really not worth the hype,so i doubt i'll make a move...

Those aren't the DDR5 chips that are coming in later this year those are just to get the launch off.
Pretty much those are bottom line DDR5 from what will truly be available and the speed isn't that much faster then DDR4 do to it being cas 38 or something like that
I been doing a little bit of research and it's really not that much of a jump the 12700k beat the 12900k in a compression task so wrap your head around that

Honestly if i could afford an Alder Lake i'd maybe upgrade, but right now sadly not in the budget, unless the Comet Lake S build last year was for me, all i need to get done on this build is better CPU Cooler, and think will stick with it this time, as unforuately while Alder Lake sounds nice and all, and DDR 5, think will have to wait

Honestly speaking if i were you i would swap your Mobo for a Z590 put that 10700s in there get 32GB of ram that way you can use it to the full potential possibly get a better cpu and sell the other i mean in the end you might end up spending $700 in upgrades but would be way better then getting the next new platform that needs time to mature.
