This is really comprehensive. I wanted to know that for other computers.

    1. No. But you can get them for about $1 each on Amazon.
    Amazon.com
    2. ASUS boards, use the DEL key to enter the BIOS and the F8 key to access the boot menu.
    3. You can. But it's better, much better to do a clean install on a new motherboard, due to drivers.
    4. Legacy goes with MBR, UEFI goes with GPT.
    5. Probably. To be sure, Google the make/model, go to the website, see if they have W7 drivers available.

    6. You can use a W7 key to activate W10 or W11.
    7. You can also download the motherboard manual from the ASUS website.

Warning: If Amazon is the ONLY etailer that has an item in stock, they will seriously jack up the price.
Thanks for the link for the speaker. The mobos I bought in the past always came with it, but the one for my new build did not. I searched for it using "chassis speaker" as is called in the manual, but no hit.

About Legacy or UEFI: With my current machine the Legacy is the only option. All OSes are installed independently and switching among them is done by selectively setting respective partition active. I attempted to do the same with the new build but I could not so that I am using the Legacy mode and the MBR style drives as with my current machine.

I could restore a backup of W7 onto the new build and it could boot up but the keyboard and the mouse are not functional.

    @churin

It would help us understand things, if we knew the make/model of the motherboard you already have.

On my thread starter post I stated something negative about the motherboard so I was reluctant to mention the make/model.
I am really a fan of the brand and build a number of machines in the past, and have never had problems as I am experiencing with the new mobo. It can no longer be returned or exchanged because of the past return period.
Here is the make/model: Gigabyte X570 AORUS Ultra.

The reason I asked, is because that Gigabyte board should be able to do anything these ASUS boards (we mentioned) can do.
And I'm an ASUS fan boy.

It worked for about a month but then started operating erratically. I had to reset the BIOS many times, etc., etc. I am beginning to think the motherboard as the most probable culprit.

That's highly possible. I just couldn't tell from your original post whether you were replacing the board because it had problems or because you "thought" ASUS boards were... better.

If it was the latter, I just wanted you to know that Gigabyte also makes excellent motherboards.

The original post meant whether to replace it with a new one assuming it happened to be a bad apple. On the other hand I thought it is not a bad idea to try a new brand since I have been using the Gigabyte for 20 years since W2K.

    That's up to you.
Have you considered RMAing the Gigabyte board?

I have decided to keep the new machine until I see what happens with the one using Asus motherboard. I picked the motherboad on pparks1's post or Asus Tuf Gaming X570 Pro Plus WiFi.
I ordered the same parts except the mobo, the case and the liquid cooler.
I wanted three 5.25" external drive bays so that the case selection is not great. I had difficulty finding right case-cooler combo for the previous build.
Now everything except 5600X has arrived and found that I have the same problem again for the next build.
What I have to do now is to find a new case or a liquid cooler or both of them.

I just wanted to post back my present situation.
