RAM (Memory) and SSD Upgrade Help with HP Pavilion x360 15 Notebook

    RAM Upgrade Questions:
Should I upgrade my RAM to 8GB or 16GB? I have used Crucial to see what my computer is compatible with, and it said up to 16GB. But Crucial is expensive, so can someone find me the compatible memory for this computer at another online retailer for me?

    SSD Upgrade Questions:
My options for upgrading the SSD would be to either a 500GB or a 1TB SSD. Which one do y'all recommend and can someone point out some that is compatible with this computer at a cheaper price than Crucial's from another online retailer?

    8GB RAM from Crucial: Crucial 8GB Kit (2 x 4GB) DDR3L-1600 SODIMM | CT2KIT51264BF160B | Crucial.com
    16GB RAM from Crucial: Crucial 16GB Kit (2 x 8GB) DDR3L-1600 SODIMM | CT2KIT102464BF160B | Crucial.com

    500GB SSD: Crucial MX500 500GB 3D NAND SATA 2.5 inch 7mm (with 9.5mm adapter) Internal SSD | CT500MX500SSD1 | Crucial.com
    1TB SSD: Crucial MX500 1TB 3D NAND SATA 2.5 inch 7mm (with 9.5mm adapter) Internal SSD | CT1000MX500SSD1 | Crucial.com

The reason why I am asking someone to find me this compatible memory and SSD at other online retailers, is because my Mom says that she feels Crucial's parts were a little too expensive.

Alternatives on the SSD: 2.5",1TB Internal SSDs | Newegg.com I'm not aware of any compatibility issues with SATA SSDs.

Note that it appears to be unlikely to go a lot cheaper than the Crucial drives.

I don't think that HP publishes a QVL (qualified vendors list) like most motherboard manufacturers do, but here's a list of RAM with basically the same specs as the Crucial: Laptop Memory | Newegg.com Strangely, the lowest price 16GB kit is the exact same Crucial parts, but for $52.

Memory is not cheap no matter where you buy it.

    Hi,
Crucial website will never offer any deals
Only amazon/ newegg/ ... do this on their products but then again do it for all manufactures sooner or later.

Crucial memory is just warrantied to work on your system which can make life easier lol
SSD's well you can buy them suckers anywhere but watch out chia mining tanked so be warned

Well ever since I updated the Intel ME Firmware on the computer, it is actually a lot more faster and more responsive to commands and it doesn't feel as laggy. So I may not need to upgrade the RAM or the hard disk after all.
