    Chipset advise wanted

If the parameters of the cpu, ram and storage were kept the same, would the motherboard chipset have a significant influence on a pc's speed?

You do not say if this is a general enquiry or specifically regarding your motherboard

The generic answer to your question is - generally NO
That said you should always have the latest chipset driver and on your board for Windows 10 64 bit it is
    AMD chipset driver ver:2.11.26.106
    Windows® 10 64bit
    48.8MB 2020/12/2

    ASRock > A320M-HDV R4.0

    as the chipset is
    - AMD Promontory A320

This is not primarily for any question of speed of the computer - although that again is a question that is too wide.
    Speed of boot
Speed of windows going to log-on from boot
    Speed of desktop opening
    Speed of browsing connections
    etc.

The chipset driver is more a question of the managing of the various ports, buses etc of the system as a whole and the integration of each part.

However that all said you appear to be running Windows 11
OS: W11 pro 64 beta channel
and if that is the case in relation to your question you should rely on Microsoft/Windows updates to keep your drivers including the chipset up to date.
Your board does not show drivers for 11 although I suspect they will be the same as those for 10

    Re this
If the parameters of the cpu, ram and storage were kept the same, would the motherboard chipset have a significant influence on a pc's speed?
It would be really helpful if you could if necessary develop your question to be specific, I suspect you have a performance problem of some nature

For my present needs, the low end spec pc components that I'm using for W11 are plenty fast enough. What I was wondering was whether there would be a noticable difference if the motherboard was a top end one. I know that the speed of M2 SSD's would be throttled by either the chipset or the processor. And that the higher end boards have many more features such as connectivity and overclocking settings.

Well you can try the AMD driver for the chipset, but it is not shown on your motherboard site so may not be fully compatible
What driver do you have now
    AMD Chipset Drivers
    Revision Number
    3.08.17.735
    File Size
    50 MB
    Release Date
    8/23/2021
    DOWNLOAD*
    Driver Details

    https://www.amd.com/en/support/chips...ocket-am4/a320

I doubt it will make any difference but perhaps worth a try
