question about optimizing my i5 10400f

ust to let you know i am running windows:

i was wondering if i where to ignore the PL2 and try to keep it PL1 65 watts would that be better for performance or should i undervolt it or should i even stop it from jumping to PL2 level of power usage

You didn't mention clearly other than PL2, PL1 65. Unless you got problem with temperature,
can't get better cooling for your pc. You should not unvolt.
Imagine you are underfeed to function.

so what your saying is i upgraded to save electricity and just let the cpu use over 100 watts

does not matter i am not trying to save heat, i am saving watts so the cpu does not use over 100 watts. i upgraded from an amd phenom 2 1045t 95 watt that binned at 102.3 watts for a reason to save electricity. now i know overall i will because the phenom used power stepping then live power changes. i just don't want to be pushing almost 130 watts cpu wise when i game 4k in the future and hope i can utilize the changes other places

    just check out this page

the psu will use the Electricity it needs and its not going to use any more than it needs - it will be constant.

that does not stop the cpu telling it to use more

if you understand pwer stepping and live power changes. the difference is with steps or tiers it may be running a power package of 55 when it only needs 50 or 48. with newer cpus they use on the fly power changes so the cpu does not need to be broken up into power packed tiers. that why these types of cpus that work in tiers can never go low enough to win as they have a min power package. i remember the phenom 2 had its' power package capped in the mid 20 watts. it had to idle at that rate and could not go any lower. my whole pc with a phenome 2 1045t and evga 980 idled at 103 watts du to the cpu acting like this
