Same vendor MB and GPU, does it matter?

I recently upgraded my case and while installing additional fans and fiddling with cables, I broke 2 main SATA connectors on bottom of motherboard. While I am at changing motherboard, question is does it matter if I have same vendor motherboard as my gpu or it doesn't.

Current motherboard is Asus and GPU is MSI

I have shortlisted two motherboards, one from ASUS and other from MSI.

    Need advise!

It does not matter, the only thing that matching would allow would be cosmetic, like the RGB of the GPU sysnced to MB. Get what you want it will be fine.

I have built or upgraded dozens of PCs over the years. I may have occasionally had the same vendor for video card as for the motherboard, but if so it was just by chance.

No issues since PC interfaces area standard enabling you mix and match components having the same interface
