    X570S Fanless Motherboards


    I have a shortlist of X570 motherboards to build a new PC. I just spotted AMD will soon be releasing the new X570S chipset which doesn't need a potentially noisy chipset fan. Various X570S motherboards having passive cooling should be available later in the year. I'll wait to see reviews of those before building a new PC.

    The fans are not loud in my opinion, and can be disabled if it is to you

    Given a choice, I would rather avoid having a chipset fan. I did note some X570- boards let you control the fan curve and turn off the fan - but is this a realistic option under high CPU load without overheating the chipset IC?

    My chipset (PCH diode) has a fan. Went from 56C to 58C after 5 minutes.

    I can't really find any definitive answers on how to stress test the chipset though.
