I'm I Too Old To Build A Computer?

I must admit that I'm nearing 90 years old, but, I need to do one more thing before the end nears, and that try to build a computer. I have several desktops that are working just fine. Also, one that I considered trashing....a 2015 HP p7-1510 desktop that needs a motherboard. So, here my goal. Gut the inter items...old motherboard, old power supply, and start with a new ASUS Prime Z390-A motherboard, a AMD Ryzen 7-2700X processor, Cooler Master Hyper 212, new Corsair 800 watt PW, keep the two SSS 1Tb hard drives, install a good Graphic card, two or four 4 Gb memory sticks and it it fly.
You experts here surely know the "rights and wrongs" here, and your welcome comments will be viable information.

And when it's all said and done... probably give the computer to the granddaughter.

That's an Intel motherboard and an AMD CPU. They don't mix... try something like this...

    System Builder - Ryzen 7 3700X 3.6 GHz 8-Core, H510 ATX Mid Tower - PCPartPicker

    Or...

    System Builder - Ryzen 7 5800X 3.8 GHz 8-Core, H510 ATX Mid Tower - PCPartPicker

    Or, for an Intel build...

    System Builder - Core i7-11700K 3.6 GHz 8-Core, H510 ATX Mid Tower - PCPartPicker

And if you decide on an Nvidia RTX 3000 series vid card... a high end model...

SeaSonic FOCUS Plus Gold 1000 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply (SSR-1000FX) - PCPartPicker

    /edit

I wasn't exactly sure, from your post, but if you already have a 2700X CPU, then something like this...

    System Builder - PCPartPicker

Sorry, to me late in my response. Here is the latest. And many thanks to all that replied to my thread. Very welcome ideas. I'm building this computer to be Windows 11 ready come download time.
Received the ASUS Bazooka B350M motherboard. Got it installed in the old HP p7-1510 desktop computer case. All went very well...no problems there. Also installed the Corsair CX750 watt power supply. Cables match right up to the motherboard.
The ASUS B350 was the one I chose due to the fact it was Windows 11 ready...Has the DirectX 12 onboard, plus with the HDMI-DVI-D ports. On order and shipped is a Cooler Master Hyper 212 fan, and two- 8GB G.Skill Z. DDR4 -3200 memory. Ordered but not shipped is a AMD Ryzen i-7-3700 3.6GHZ 8 core CPU. This is also required for Windows 11. I need to get serious on what Graphic card to install.
When it all up and running I will use it for a couple month and give it to the granddaughter for her 12th birthday.
Will report back when all the items are in and running....Hope no problems come from the other items not installed.

If you want to get an idea of what components to buy to build a computer and to make sure that they are compatible with each other go to
    Logical Increments
They have about ten packages for beginners to intermediate level and all the way for high end gamers with suggested compatible components. The totals add up from $400 to $2000+. Select a package and ignore its components you are not changing.
I am also 90 yrs old and I did just that and finished upgrading from a Win-7 to a Win-10 64-bit system. Later I intend to get started into flight simulators with the addition of a graphics processor & upgrade to a Win-11. However, my grand daughter would rather carry her laptop to her bedroom then use my desk top !!!
Good Luck in your build & have fun. Its very satisfying when its completed & running

And also the Ryzen 7 3700 specs call for 3200 mhz RAM as well as the Bazooka B350M motherboard so faster RAM would not have done any good. @JDZ710ALTractor got 16 GB of the fastest memory supported.
