Due to Windows10 update 6950x doesn't keep Overclock remains stock

As the title states Broadwell-E platform is no longer overclockable due to Windows10 Updates
I haven't used my system in a while it was clocked at 4.4Ghz but after the updates the cpu clock stayed stock and the overclock in the bios was still applied.
Now after digging and reading there is a update that has corrupted the Microcode and no matter what it's just keep happening.

Basically what are your thoughts on this was this a purpose act to make people move on to new platforms because it's a real bummer knowing that you can't run a good overclock because windows itself has blocked the CPU from performing

    Hi,
    Yikes again
I just got my x99 and 5930k back running don't think I was ever affected I'm on old 2101 bios though still

Broadwell E users watch out for Windows 10 KB4100347 update
    Long story short
Hey there: Solution for RS4 and RS5. With RS4 you can either uninstall the offending KB
or replace the mcupdate_genuineintel.dll located in Windows/System32 and disable updates.
An annoying process. RS5 is, concerning the mcupdate_genuineintel.dll that is updated with the carpy code,
is integrated. So there is no KB to remove, to uninstall. The fix now for is take ownership of that file,
rename or delete it and replace it with a version prior to the patch. I used the July 10 2018 version in SXS backup. Works perfect.
Until there's a fix, this is how you get your OC back. Enjoy.
Caveat: Updating to 1809 removes the earlier version of the .dll file you will need to perform this.
So either save a copy prior to updating or, find the file version from July.

I seen your input about the issue some years ago i noticed it when my scores on 3dmark were crap
the CPU is locked at 3.5Ghz no matter what i am doing more updates to hopefully resolve it but honestly i am about to toss it

I don't like the idea that windows crippled my machine that was perfectly fine and intel or anyone else has bothered to work on it tells me to get rid of it they will never tackle the issue and security updates are needed this should be a major backlash on intel and the board makers that have put people in a position to fix their own hardware when they shouldn't have to....

    Hi,
If you have one restore a system image
Turn off updates and see if oc'ing works.
If so extract the file mentioned and replace it after updating then turn off updates again.
