I also have a computer with a Phenom II X4 960T. It runs a lot cooler than the Phenom II X4 955 ever did. The Phenom II X4 960T is supposed to be an X6 with 2 cores disabled. I remember trying to enable these 2 cores but can't remember exactly what the result was. The 960T either failed to boot or was unstable with all 6 cores enabled. In any event I set it back to 4 cores.
Did you know about the class-action lawsuit against AMD regarding the alleged false advertising of the FX CPUs a couple years ago? I got a check for $30.42 last year for the FX-8350 I bought in 2013.
Yeah I heard about that. I was furious when I bought my 6300! The only true 6 core CPU that outperformed itself I'm pretty sure was the X6 1090T. I'm aware even the 8350 unfortunately isn't a true 8 core, but nevertheless it has performed beyond my expectations in both overclocking and stock clocks.

I am assuming you are using a hard drive for booting the computer. If so have you thought of replacing it with a 2.5-inch SATA SSD? If you do you will be amazed how much faster the SSD is.

My main boot drive for Windows is a 500 GB WD SSD. :) Programs, games and such are on a 1TB WD Black drive.
