Play with the DRAM Vs, you can raise it without worries higher than 1.35. Yes, the evo Plus models run warmer but your good.

Will that solve the XMP mode not boot problems. Some reason forgot where to find it, before could not find it to even change to XMP had to do it in EZ mode. Guess have to look in BIOS manual again. Thanks nice to see you Dude !!

Yeah i know. It was not listed as QVL on motherboard site at first i thought i would have a RAM height issue and all the other RAM listed on Asus site under QVL for G..Skill was Trident Series they are taller, even some Corsair were too. But way offset of cooler is, just clears RAM slots so height might of not made a difference. G.Skill i bought are 42mm High, Tridents ranged from 45mm-upwards.
Looked at pictures I could upload this may rise near fan blades, doubt have an effect.

Yeah not sure about raising voltage most in QVL say 135v, have to check when i try to set it to XMP if i can see voltage change.
Raising by that amount will not be harmful.

Couldn't find where XMP profile was in Advanced mode in BIOS, but it showed same voltage when changed in EZ mode 1.35v.
Guess forgot how to capture screen in BIOS not same as in Windows didn't work, but what i can see in EZ.

My Anti Virus wanted me to enable Hardware Virtualization for protection reason, so i did so in BIOS not sure why it is disabled by default when it is supported, not to familiar with it.

Not sure how accurate AIDA64 is looks on idle looks good, but M.2 gets kinda hot

    Attachment 337223
I meant the memory timings screen in your motherboard BIOS. I assume it has one - I am not familiar with the MB BIOS.

I also recall seeing a separate dram vboot voltage in my BIOS. If you have that, set it for say 1.4, will help with boot issues

Not sure, but when set to XMP believe timing showed same as it's specs for this particular RAM 18-22-22-42 1.35v Screen where i do switch it to XMP I or II switches another setting to 4000MHZ CL 18-22-22-42.

How do i take a screen shot in BIOS ?

Is that like instead of the regular 1.2v RAM shows without a change ?

    1. Your motherboard has a separate BIOS manual at the ASUS website...
ROG STRIX Z490-E GAMING | ROG Strix | Gaming Motherboards|ROG - Republic of Gamers|ROG USA

    2. My motherboard is an AMD board, and uses DOCP rather than XMP, but, I also use Gskill RAM.

    3. I couldn't use DOCP (wouldn't boot), I had to manually set up my RAM.

To do that you need CPU-Z, the manufacturer's RAM specs, and a little patience... and a backup made before you start.

Check CPU-Z to see what the XMP settings should be...

Then, in the BIOS, manually set the RAM frequency, the timings and the voltage (usually 1.35v)
These were my timings, as per CPU-Z and manufacturer;s specs...

After all is done, the tabs in CPU-Z that pertained to memory, looked like this... (3200Mhz RAM)

NOTE: The RAM timing settings in your BIOS don't look the same as mine.
That part you'll just have to figure out. The CPU-Z "Memory" tab, may help with that.

Usually just turning on XMP, works for Intel boards.

Timings i gave are the timings it would be with XMP, yes should be as easy as flipping a switch with Intel did with last motherboard.
How about using AIDA64 should be able to tell me this too ?

It IS in AIDA64... somewhere. But CPU-Z is a lot easier. You don't even have to install it (.zip version is portable)
