    You'll be fine.

Manual: ROG STRIX Z490-E GAMING | ROG Strix | Gaming Motherboards|ROG - Republic of Gamers|ROG Global

I know have plenty of fans 6 to be exact, not counting 2 on Hyper 212 now.
So dot or line, last time lol ?

It's up to you. All those methods work. The main thing is don't over do it, and don't put too little.
This is another reason I recommend the larger tube. Gives you more thermal compound to mess around with.

    You'll be fine. Really ^^

The trick is to never build computers in a hurry. Leave yourself some time, do ity when you're relaxed.

One thing have not done many times is apply thermal paste since being into PC's everything else i am pretty good at.
What is too little with a line in inches if you can. Dot about size of a pea or bit bigger ? this is it after these questions, lol.

Yeah, until you do "more" research.

The video I posted shows you how it spreads. Use that as a guide. We ALL were new at thermal compound once.
We all survived. It's not permanent. If the CPU is too hot, try again.
If you get decent temps, you're good to go.

Keep the CPU under 80C at load and you'll be fine.

Most these days have no cure time. Cure times are from the Arctic Silver days.

Yeah... too many people when removing the CPU cooler, ripped the CPU out of the socket.
So, manufacturers started making more with no curing time, and so they would never dry out.

If it's been a long time since you did paste, then you must have done it... right.
