matching a cpu with a gpu

I have been thinking about getting a ryzen 7 3700x for my rx5700xt
and an rx570 for my ryzen 5 2600

since it seems the builds I can find using the ryzen 5 2600 all use less powerfull gpus than the rx5700xt

despite bottleneck calculator stating the ryzen 5 2600 and rx5700xt as a match for 1080p gaming

    any advice on this?

Pointless excercise as games vary a lot in how they use the CPU and GPU.
Also varies as to the settings in the game.

Your current processor and graphics card are still a decent combination in my opinion.

I would say that any GPU you can get right now at a reasonably inflated price in a reasonable amount of time is a good match for any CPU.

    yes

    but

in games and benchmarks my rx5700xt is being left in the dust by my gtx1080 despite the rx5700xt being rated to be on par with a gtx1080ti

right now my rx5700xt can barely compete with a gtx1070

the cpu speed is important to get the most out of a gfx card and it seems the r5 2600 is simply to slow for my rx5700xt

I doubt the rx570 and similar cards are as affected by miners as the higher end cards are and miners dont need high end cpus ...they just use low to midrange

I looked on Hardware compare to look at the difference between the 5700Xt & the 1080Ti & as I thought the 1080Ti has at least 29% more Texel rate & 27% more Pixel rate.

I have a 3800X & use a Vega56 (about 15% slower than a 5700) at the moment & according to the Bottleneck Calc I could use 2 X Vega56 & still the graphics card will be the bottleneck in my system, so a powerful CPU can push your card to it limits if that's what you want & 8 core does seem like the sweet spot for gaming as I have had a Ryzen 3600 before the upgrade to R7 3800X.

I would say the 6800XT is is the card that would beat the 1080Ti by a bit.

well ok it is supposed to be between gtx1080 and gtx1080ti... just saddens me that it performs worse than my gtx1080 atm
