    Hi there
How do you get on with those curved monitors -- I think I'd probably get a bit distracted -- what are they like for "Edge distortion" if not sitting dead square in front of the screen. When not gaming what are they like for "Standard Movie and TV watching and / or using apps like photoshop and above all what about "Officy things" like email, zoom, spreadsheets etc.

    Cheers

    Hi jimbo,
I’ve been using a Dell 34” curved monitor for 2 years now with no difficulties. I also have a flat screen on the same desktop and moving between the two causes no difficulties. I suspect that since the radius of curvature of the screen appears to extend beyond the eye to screen distance there’s not likely to be any noticeable distortion. And in any event the human brain does an amazing job of compensating for things such as that.

Build has been solid. Pleasantly surprised on the performance of that EVGA 3060 XC Gaming to be honest. She is playing Call of Duty Cold War with me and she is running with almost everything on High or Ultra and is at 130+ FPS at 1440p. (2k)

The stock cooler on the CPU is a tad on the noisy side....but not bothersome enough to invest in a difference cooler. We will see how things go as summer gets here and the room we are in warms up a bit.

She wanted a bit more RGB, so I replaced the back 140mm Fractal Dynamic S2 with a Fractal Prisma AL14, and decided to put the stock fan as an exhaust fan in the back top.

She is super happy with her build.

that is one lucky wife... it is a pretty hefty gaming rig she gets even by 2021 standards--. must be nice to be rich

planning on building a newer rig for myself once this gpu shortage is over and I have money for it again

of course insane hardware prices even before the gpu crisis here in denmark didnt help either

I don't think rich is quite the right word. But the wife and I are both employed full time and have been working in our fields for almost 25 years. We both have bachelors degrees and the wife has a masters. Fortunate and comfortable are probably better words.

In addition, my son and I also have a small lawnmowing and landscaping business that we do on evenings and weekends which bring in most of the money for his gaming rig.

I used to upgrade pretty regularly, but my new desktop (Dec of 2020) replaces my June of 2009 build. And the wife's desktop replaces here 2013 laptop....so it's been a number of years since either her or I have had anything new.
