Be aware that some of the Z690 motherboards for Alder Lake will require mandatory use of DDR5 DRAM. Not a lot is known about DDR5 yet or pricing. Some boards will continue support for DDR4. I heard that all of the Asus Maximus line will be DDR5 only.
And the "lesser" boards DDR4 only.

    Hi,
Yeah ddr5 won't be cheap for sure
The tested latency's look pretty bad to way to high for the speeds.

If your running anything less then 1-2 year old machine i would say skip it just like the 30 series GPU's .
It's getting utterly ridiculous with how stuff has gotten out of control with prices and unknowns....
DDR5 is going to be a grip! I wouldn't bother until my current Rig is not able to keep up this is forcing many Enthusiast to rethink do i need the next hot chip for validation well at least some of us that is.

Keep in mind Alder Lake now has 4 gear modes for RAM vs 2 on Rocket Lake. The leaks are probably in Gear 4 mode which is good for super high DDR5 frequencies but bad for latency.

The designs look really good for Z690, looking really high tech. But I expect they'll be even more expensive than Z590.
