The problem I have with that tweak is it takes forever to restart the PC and boot into UEFI. In fact I meant to ask Brink about it because it's so slow. I find it faster to just reboot, hit delete, and enter UEFI.
If you edit the bat file and change the t value to 0, it will work immediately.

Steve, thanks for the tip. I'll give it a try and see how that goes.

    Thanks,

Edit....uh, where is the bat file? I'm a little slow on these things

If you added this by downloading and installing a registry file like I did, it stores a powershell command in the registry. Edit the line in that registry file :

    [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\DesktopBackground\Shell\Firmware\command]
    @="powershell -windowstyle hidden -command "Start-Process cmd -ArgumentList '/s,/c,shutdown /r /fw /f /t 3' -Verb runAs""

to have "/t 0", save it, then click on the file to update it in the registry. Or edit it directly in the registry,

@RoadBlaster no one replied so try

    winsat mem

This is my score on the Z170 with 2 8GB GSkill 3600 MHz sticks, yours should be a bit lower. But you can use it to check to see if more ram gains a higher score.
So only tested with 1 stick,

So with 2 sticks am I expected to see double what it is now ?

But having 2 sticks will not do anything different for me, my games play the same & all utility software processes all data at the same times, no stuttering, nothing ?

What software really uses the bandwidth to it's extent, I may just just keep it with 1 stick & save money from now on when buying ram !

The decision is yours, I was just talking the bandwidth you would get running winsat-mem. I wont write a long explanation on the benefits, just read around what the difference is. Here is a good read

    @RoadBlaster

The only difference, as Doug has said, is running in single channel vs dual channel may get you a better score with winsat mem.

Read the article posted if you haven`t already.

But if 16GB is working fine for you with everything you do, well than maybe that`s all you need.

I had 32GB of Corsair Dominator Platinum on the Z170 running at 2800 MHz, but I wanted faster memory. So I got the 16GGB GSkill 3600 MHz set, it is really hard to notice any difference in day to day use.

It does make the system feel a bit snappier, but that could all be in my head

I have been wanting to build a new rig, but cant find a 5900x at a reasonable price, or a CH8 dark board. So I'm building this instead
