Don't you typically get better air flow when the case is actually closed? Because the air comes in, circulates through and exits out. With the side off, you lose a lot of that controlled air flow.
It's -5°C outside, I open the case, open my balcony door, and take a piece of cardboard and fan the cold into the case

Gotcha. My son has a Core i5-6500 which isn't overclocked, with a GTX 1060 card, and we are using a simple Antec 302 case. HIs computer sits in a basement where ambient temp is around 17C, his PC idles around 20-22C. Rarely do we hit 40.

I went back looking at a few pages, and I like this $89 InWin glass tempered case. I'm not typically a fan of cases with windows, but I like this entire glass side setup.

The nice thing with the tempered glass is, when it's clean(no smudges or finger prints), with the LEDs I just got, you don't even know the glass is there, and the machine(on nice cool defaults, not OC'd) is very quiet.

Looks real nice and Vrooom! Vroooom!

    LEDs are always nice.
I got some blue ones for mine, to match the fans, Friday, but now I noticed I need some white highlights inside now.
    Like some white cable sleeves....
Or I could changer one strip for white LEDs.

I'm just saying this so you think of it before you buy, that you get a color that doesn't hide the same color, like my blue RAM sticks, look black with all blue lighting.

    @ Cliff.
I also don't understand why MSI would put the M.2 in such a warm place.

    @ Cliff and N00berG00ber.

    Gentlemen well done.

Nice and neat and well organized.

It's nice to see so many building their own systems.
