I was able to bench at +1600 mem last night no problem.

Sorry to hear the trouble with your card Kol, I hope they sort it out quickly for you and the replacement is better.
Thanks Paul, I hope so too. I've been reading into inductor noise and sometimes it can be an indicator of a bigger problem like a power delivery one. Most PC sites will say coil whine is just noise and not harmful but there may be more to it.

I hope the EVGA FTW3 works well for you, what's next an MSI, Zotac? LOL just kidding. I'm surprised you can return those cards with nothing wrong with them, in NZ you'd have to have a good reason to return a working card and get your money back... This EVGA FTW3 will reach for 400W even though it has a 370W BIOS, I've seen it, watch PX1 closely. I see you guy's are talking about custom BIOS's too and that's something I need follow.

I'm not sure why you can't break 310W in PX1 that's weird. What program can you break 310W with MSI Afterburner? Are you using dual PCIe power cables from the PSU? I honestly can't think what is wrong with PX1, there are very helpful guy's at the EVGA forum so I suggest you ask there.

1600, that's nice. Do you have Samsung or Micron memory? Pretty sure I couldn't get past 1400 but I will try again. I suppose your not going to share your refrigeration techniques?

Haven't seen it. Is it just noise or something worse? I would watch it now but it's late.

It's an explanation about what causes whine, and why companies use parts know they can cause whine.

Hi Kol, good luck with your replacement card.

I tested it out with some zotac software. I wanted to use afterburner but only 1 fan worked on that.
The Zotac software worked anyway but I would prefer to use Precision X1 so I will try reinstalling it or an older version as you suggested in the other thread.
Yes I have 2x 8pins connected to it. It's working fine except when using Precision X1.

It's Samsung memory thankfully. I actually ran it fine on Superposition last night as +1650 mem. Awesome memory on it!

Lol, I did mention how I was keeping it cool in another thread when I replied to you so hopefully you saw that. I am not the kind of person to hide hints and methods for benching, I like sharing all knowledge to help if I can.

Got some lighting for behind the new monitor today, only £10 from Amazon but seems to work well. USB powered and lots of colours. Decided to go green for now and matched the case, ram, mobo, gpu and keyboard up with it (the mouse pain's me as you can't change the colour on it!).

Thanks a lot Kipper, appreciate it. Taken a lot of work and money but I can say I am extremely happy with the whole set up now

    Looks great Paul

One of our cats insists on walking across my desk right in front of me to get to my bed.
