I like to reverse a shop vacuum on mine and then brush out the sticky stuff, just have to tie the fans down so I don't shread the bearings.

Got some new stuff today. 43" Ultra superwide or something like that lol. It's 120Hz Samsung and an absolute joy for everything especially my racing games with the G29 racing wheel. Also a new Corsair Void Pro headset which was somewhat of a bargain from Amazon. And finally I decided to send my ROG Strix 2080ti back to Amazon before the 30 day return window expired and I managed to get a FTW3 Ultra for pretty much the same price .
    Been a fun day!

Thanks Kol. Nothing wrong with the ROG Strix, I just decided I wanted to try a different card out so I sent it back while I still could. The FTW3 is running a fair bit cooler than the Strix. The memory on this FTW3 can run at +1500 no problem. I still need to work on the core. It's fine at 2115Mhz which isn't bad but hoping to squeeze a little more out of it yet.

Are you still having trouble with your FTW3?

Your doing very well to get +1500 on the memory, I recall artifacting at +1400 but I need to revisit that. The overclock's on these cards are quite severely thermally limited, it's all locked into Nvidia's GPU boost 4.0 tables. My card gets to 60C in no time and clocks quickly drop back. I have no idea how you guy's are running your cards cooler other than sticking your PC in a fridge?? Maybe OldMike is secretly water cooling and not telling us...

I am actually getting a replacement FTW3 from EVGA that I've been organizing just this past week. I have quite bad coil whine from the VRM inductors. The inductors have little coils inside them and a bad solder job or bad inductor can cause this noise. I'dd like to think it's affecting the power delivery of my card as well but I am not sure. Anyway EVGA agreed to replace the card and with a bit of persuading agreed to replace it with a brand new card as I am just 60 days out from the retail purchase...

Download MSI Kombustor and run the 1280x720 preset. It applies enough load to the card to boost clocks but stays very cool, it will give you an idea of how much you can OC your card. Try +140-150 on the core... I think I got 2145Mhz and felt I could go more. Ultimately you'll need to water cool the card to get those clock speeds but that is my plan anyway...

I was able to bench at +1600 mem last night no problem.

Sorry to hear the trouble with your card Kol, I hope they sort it out quickly for you and the replacement is better.
