I know Noctua fans are quality. Have used them for years. Many other companies through the years have also raised their quality to match Noctua standards. Or at least close to Noctua's standards.

Thank you Steve for the videos.

It's been a while sense I have been hardware shopping. It sure doesn't take long to get behind on the new hardware.

So many nice builds in here. I'm getting the building itch again.

    Hi,

So many nice builds in here. I'm getting the building itch again.
Same here really. Time to take a major step. I'm bored with three machine that hardly bring any progress from gen. 4 cpu to gen. 7.
Stupid thing is, the humble one with the 4790K cpu is still the fastest one. Probably because it's such a modest, entry level MB.

    Men and their toys, he....

    Cheers,

    Cheers,
I built five systems in 2017. Thankfully 2018 is around the corner so I can start building them again without the wife getting angry.

Hey thanks all. I never warmed to the color of the Noctua fans, but they work great!

Steve - I think an EATX isn't for me. I am looking at the Maximus Code X (or XI for the 9700k) line. I think it has all I'll need - I am not going to water cool or anything. Plan on the 9700k, but if a good deal comes up on the 8700K or code X...

Hope everyone had a great Xmas!

Well I decided to finish the cooling off with all Chromax. I don't think I like the red anti-vibration pads on the fans. I think I will replace them with black. Fixed up the disk drive rack too. Still have the jury rigged fan to cool the 960 pro

Now this setup is Over-The-Top.......really nice looking with the new fans.........
