Oh the days of vanilla colored cases and floppy drives. Classic.

I should make a post listing all the pc's I have, working or not lol. Those old things are fun to keep around. I have a Compaq Armada 1750 notebook somewhere in a box that is working apart from a empty CMOS battery which is a pain to get at. Came with Windows 98, tried Windows 2000 Pro but that took 20 minutes to boot, now runs Windows XP pretty good!

Back when I went to school, I kept the Compaq in my locker, it had a RS232 port that I used for configuring Cisco routers and switches. While everyone else was messing with USB-RS232 converters :)

I've been looking to replace my Thinkpad with a Precision. How do you like it?

No problems whatsoever with it. I've had it since March of this year, so around 6 months now. Battery life is solid. Processor is strong. Hard drive is fast.

My only complaint is that Dell decided to change the size of the power plug on the side of the unit, so none of my old power supplies will work with it.

Haven't really been too enthusiastic about the newer hardware but the x299 stuff has been getting my attention a bit more than the dual channel quad core stuff prior being it's so close to holidays I might weight a bit more.
Price wise microcenter for a cpu at present 7820x and amazon for the board x299 prime possibly a tuff mark1 seems likely :/
