Well paul, I moved on to another 240 cooler the EVGA CLC 240.... this presented a new and different set of problems...

    Attachment 232425

The EVGA software to control their AIO coolers has a flaw in how it caputres the Temps; I believe that when it shows the temps in C it is most likely actually showing the temp reading in F.... I have been monitoring what EVGA Flow Control software shows along with Core Temp and if you convert the Celsius Reading in Core Temp to Fahrenheit the numbers in Flow Control are pretty much right on in Fahrenheit....

    Attachment 232427

I also tried the previous version of Flow Control and it showed temps that were retared by 10 when compaired to Core Temp and the MB readings....

Seems I have read that allmost all of these AIO units that have integrated their own software have been having problems getting everything to read correctly...

So for now I am controling the pump and fan speed via the BIOS...

I got my hands on a Swiftech H240 X3 cooler so I am going to mount it in the next few days and seem how it does...
Weird readings alright. Unfortunately EVGA software has never been great. If I was following and knew you were looking for another AIO I would have recommended a Corsair. Do you have HWiNFO? HWiNFO can usually monitor most AIO's, it's not recommended but you could enable it once to see if it gives a temperature reading in celsius vs Fahrenheit. Also head over to the software section of EVGA forums and see if anyone there can get this sorted for you.

    Hi,
Yeah it worked for me because I added the led display to the front of my cases to see the temps easier

What's that on top your case? It looks like an extension of the top dust grill.

I used HWiNFO, Core Temp, AIDA64 which all reported the same temps.... I was surprised when I joined the EVGA forums to find there is only one thread regarding the Flow Control Software and less than 20 posts in the thread but all posts pretty much follow the same problem with the temps being reported incorrectly since the first release of the program...

I have used several of the Corsair AIO coolers in the past prior to Corsair adding any of their software. Seems that even Corsair is not immune to software problems from reviewing their forums...

Up next will be the Swiftech H240 X3 cooler, no software for it; if you want to play with the optional colored led lighting you have to use the provided controller to select the scheme and the led controller and fan hookups are on the controller... the controller and pump are SATA powered and pump and fan speeds are controlled via the BIOS...

If I decide to stay with liquid cooling I will build a custom loop again. From my experience the top Air Coolers will perform just as well as any AIO and in a lot of cases even better. My main concern is the size of the best Air Coolers and their weight which could lead to MB damage and will interfere with air flow within the chassis...

Are you going to ditch the EVGA cooler @kipper? I don't much about them but that software glitch is annoying. Corsair iCUE software is pretty good now, it's had issues in the past but things are always being fixed. I have no issues with my H110i and getting correct coolant temperature readings. Furthermore the H110i has been solid since the day I brought it, no leaks, no pump noise or anything. I'm surprised it's been going this long!

Dug out the swiftech last night and I do not like the fact with the reservoir and pump being built into the bottom of the radiator which limits the Fan placement so I am going to pass on installing it for now and I have ordered some chromax stuff to dress up the Noctoua Air Cooler so it will look better with the B&W theme of this build.... I will post a pic one I get it installed.
