I have 2 1TB SSDs for backup, what is the big deal about this? I have had about 50 SSDs, never has one gone bad. Way I see it, my machine, my money, my call.

One thing about most of us on the computer sites, we don't lack for passion in our opinions.
Submitted with all due respect, and a smile, for HD and SSD lovers everywhere...
If you have the funds for them great. I personally can't justify the costs as I can build a new system with those funds. LOL.

Personally, I've had bad experiences with SSDs to date. But maybe I am the unfortunate user to get them. I already had 1 fail without warning and out of the blue. Some of the data was only partially retrievable (I guess better than an HDD failure which could nuke a drive). I now have a Crucial MX100 that is giving me the disappearing act every now and then. Definitely will not consider them as a reliable backup drive even if I did have the funds based on my bad experiences to date with them. Of course the SSDs are strictly being used as OS/programs drive. HDDs are more reliable and durable based on my experiences. But as SSDs progress, who knows. They're still infants compared to HDDs.
