My baby brothers first PC. It's been a slow build over the last few months. Sadly it won't be ready for a Christmas present due to lack of funds for the last two parts. It's currently a Quad Core Xeon and 8GB of RAM and a 1TB HD. In a new Rosewill Blackhawk Case. I think he'll like it a lot.

Very nice Brink...looking at your build I see that I picked 2 of the components you have lol. The Samsung M.2 250GB and the G.Skill ram. At least I done something right hehehe.

    Season's Greetings

A work in progress. Plan to black out fans or replace them with Cromax, fix hard drive tray by the time I replace it with a 9700k. Running 24x7 4.8 GHz @ 1.28v VID.

That looks really nice Gene. I like the Chromax fan covers. Gives it a good look.

Thanks Steve, they do really give it a nice clean look.

I am trying to decide on whether to get an 8700k or wait until the 9700k. My 4790k should do be good for a while at the speed I am running it. How do you like your 8700k? If I went the 8700k route, I was thinking of getting a Hero X,but the Apex looks intriguing, how do you like it? I notice the Hero has no PS/2 ports which is a bummer.

Why not get a 250 GB 960 Pro or 500 GB 960 EVO instead of the 850 Pro for your OS?

Gene, I imagine it depends on what you are doing with the computer. I love my Apex and 8700K. Intel said it was the best gaming CPU they had ever made. I think they may be telling the truth. This is very fast and pushing 6 cores. I'm sure I will be wanting another computer before I need 8 cores. 8 cores would come in handy when encoding videos, but I don't do that as often as I used to. 6 Cores is plenty for what I do. If you need 8 cores, I may consider waiting. I did think about it but decided I may want 8 cores, but I don't really have too much need for them. If you like overclocking and pushing your hardware, the Apex is the only way to go, as far as I am concerned. I wouldn't trade my Apex for any board on the market. Just my 2 cents. BTW, the Apex has 2 PS/2 ports.

    Looks really nice and clean
Kind of a military desert(because of the Noctua's) stealth look inside.
