    Computer upgrade question

My current computer has a 250GIG ssd drive with Windows 10 (version 10.0.18363) on it, but has 1TB and 2TB hdds as well. I just ordered a new computer that has a 500GIG ssd with windows on it as well as a hdd. All hdd are SATA as well on both computers. I want to know if I can add the 1 or 2 hdds from my old computer and will Windows 10 recognize the files and folders or do I have to transfer everything to my new hdd and format the old ones to install them?

If the disks are simple data disks, not RAID or configured as storage spaces, say, which has been known to cause problems, then yes.

If they are encrypted, that could be another matter.

Typical non-Windows drives should be able to be moved to different computers without problems.

Can I leave the programs on the drives and or do I have to reinstall them? I would assume if it is something I paid for they will ask for my serial key again but would they ask me to reinstall as well?

If they are fully portable programs, yes. If they are programs you have installed there with registry keys, start menu entries, folders on C: absolutely no.

Otherwise you might be referring to UWP apps from the store having changed where they are saved- you would have to download those again.
