    Ryzen 3600 Idle Temps.

Is it just me or does the Ryzen 3600 run a bit warm? Mine fluctuates between 40C-50C at idle and I don't know if I should be worried or not. It's at stock settings and cooled by a Dark Rock 4. I'm even considering sending the DR4 back and replacing it with a Arctic Liquid Freezer 280.

Download extract (mine is extracted to C:\Program Files (x86)\HardwareMonitor) and run OpenHardwareMonitor. (dont't need to install)
Under options you can set to start on windows start.
You can configure what to show in the tray and on the gadget.

It will show you the current, min and max temperatures, that should never go above 80ºC.
On BIOS, did you configured the heat sink fan operation?
Mine stays at the minimum till 50ºC and then the fan speed linear increases to max speed at 80ºC.

No they are not. What CPU cooler do you have? What type of thermal paste did you use and how much? Make sure you CPU cooler is firmly seated.

I see the cooler....nice choice. Did you remove the plastic covering off the cpu base plate?

With stock settings (no overclock) Dark Rock 4 should be all you need.
Plankton mentioned a crucial point. Is it well installed?

I own a 3800X instead of a 3600 but my temps are exactly the same as yours, fluctuation between 40 and 50 degrees while idle. I use a AIO water cooler meaning cooling is definitely not an issue. 40 - 50 degrees is absolutely normal for this CPU.

Yes it installed fine. I made sure to remove the plastic from the base. Thermal paste is Arctic MX4.

Ryzen 3xxx temperature works differently, it can change by 30C within a second, it is by design.
Max temperature is 95C, so unless you are coming to that at full load, I would not worry about it.
But I understand the feeling, I like PC to run cool & quiet. Fans are set to 700rpm and 35-50C at idle.
