3 SATA SSD's happened when I ran out of storage with 2 and decided to raid-0 the 3. They are Samsung 850, from 2016 from my 6700k build. I think I selected 860 in PC Part Picker. They are quite old but are still rock solid (knock on wood)

2 NVMe is pretty similar story but from the 9900k build I currently use. Decided to use the secondary slot eventually. Bad planning but I don't mind having it divided. I'm keeping it pretty much organized and it's easy to image the units for backups with Macrium reflect.

If I had to start the storage over, yeah I'd do it differently. Would first populate NVME slot 1 with 2TB. Good thing is the 500D has 3 SSD slots on the back. Perfect fit, and 2 3.5" for my mechanical drives.

About the super, really? I didn't know that. I've 3440x1440 to push so that's mainly why I went with a Ti, and at that price point, I don't want any buyer remorse.

I'm not a fan of my Asus Strix though. I think it's one of the ugliest shroud you can get when mounted standard (horizontally) but to each their own. It looks fine vertically especially with the led arrangement but mine burned on one side, quite frustrating. The led is done via some fiber cables no way I've the skills or knowledge to pull a DYI on that. Base clock is not impressive either compared to some of the competition. I wanted an EVGA but I was a very early adopter of the 2080Ti and couldn't find one at the time. Cherry on the cake, coil whine is quite annoying, but when panel closed it's not that bad. That might be me though, I pushed that card quite hard to get some of the scores I got in the overclock sub. Also, it was their early batch.

Oups, wall of text. Will end it here :) Thanks for the feedback.

In reality i could tone down the settings but after playing around with the settings that game regardless eats the crap out of VRAM

I don't understand why they make games with such high dependence on VRAM yet they will not allow Sli or Crossfire for those types of games
When i hit max settings on resident even 3 it asked for 12.87GB of Vram dude that is friggin insane

I am not too sure about Resident even 3 in sli but seriously if thats the case the Developers need to put sli and crossfire back into the mix i want the best possible when i game i don't want to be borked because they ask for more vram than one card can give !

    Hi,
c14 is c14 in my book all oc pretty well it is b-die
    I'd at least do 3600c15 or c16 though in 4x8gb or 2x16gb
2x16 will oc better just like it does on all dual channel boards.
While I'm waiting for more parts, I was able to achieve 3600 14-14-14-35 @ 1.42V on my G.SKILL 4x8 set this morning (With my 9900k). Seems stable so far with what I've thrown at it.

Happy with the bin I guess.

    HI,
Yeah I've read people getting 4k mhz fairly easily with just 14-15-14-36 and 1.45v
    I have a quad set of trident-z 3200c14 4x8gb on my x99 rig
x99 is so finicky about ram I'm just happy it runs at rated speed and tested latency timings/ not xmp :)

Posted some timings here off my 3600c16 kit 3200c14 is supposed to be the same bin as these are
What's your memory assessment speed ?

@Brawndo It doesn't look like money is an issue in your build. Just found this a few days ago...

How about a $1300.00 Z490 motherboard from Gigabyte?

Z490 AORUS XTREME WATERFORCE (rev. 1.x) | Motherboard - GIGABYTE Global

It's sexy, lick worthy, but I'm not doing a custom loop. Maybe later when we can find actual parts. Maybe on next AMD gen I'll do something crazy with a board like that. thanks for the image. No money is not an issue but I still selected a Mid-High range board for this build, partly du to aesthetics. Leds are burned on my 2080 Ti, i want to mount it vertically, so will fit the dark theme. Only rgb I will have is some white or subtle grey from the rings of AER2 fans and possible a led strip hidden at the top to show off the inside since the windows are tinted, will need some way to admire it. I've a few HUE2 led strips from NZXT.

I received the board by the way guy! Getting close to build time.

Didn't take a picture but it's exactly what it looks like in pics

    @Brawndo

Btw, thanks for the time and effort expended so far, on this walk through of your build.

Thanks guys! It's fun sharing the passion.

So, basically now I'm stuck waiting for the CPU cooler before I can start cannibalizing the current build for the rest of the parts.

I did the easy part meanwhile.

That's what it looks like on the back. Doesn't seem too bad for cable management but I've seen better.

When I removed the stickers on the ram, thankfully, serial numbers follow each other. 61, 62, 63, 64. So even if it was 2 kits, should be fine :) I hope so anyway.

More to come soon, when cooler arrives I can finish it.
