Hi,
Saw it on ocn 3950x died thread thought I'd share.
My 3950X system just died - Overclock.net - An Overclocking Community
Like i was telling you earlier i was texting Doug (akaDude) telling him my system has died
I think AMD still has issues here and there but i had memory boot issues but i think because the cooler is like right up against them
The PC not making nothing not even beep codes had me super worried i took out the battery (CMOS) still nothing
So i begin to Re-seat the CPU and GAWD willing it worked !
If i wasn't determined to make it work i would of sent it back and gave up good thing i'm not a Quitter !
Hi,
Yeah that's wild
Only cpu that's died on me was 9940x plus 1200p2 psu both at the same time messed the mother board up too.
Lots of rma's later last year
3950x Overclocking so far
#1 I can all-core 4.325Ghz 1.3v Ram settings xmp-dcop 3600 /FCLK 1800mhz R20 score 10004
#2 Overclock using Core Tiers CCDO-4.5Ghz CCD1 4.4Ghz CCD2 4.325Ghz same ram settings above R20 score 10241
Now i am just playing with cores to see if i can get more out of it My voltage i am using to do this is 1.35-1.36v CPU vid and VDDC voltage same Level 2 LLC Cpu Level 1 LLC on Soc.V 1.1volts Manual settings by the way
I am playing with 4.525Ghz -4.325Ghz and 4.3Ghz have not even come close to the second run but still in the same ball park
as you can see this is the best way to OC these chips gives the best results IMO
Hi,
Nice Tommie you need a new sub on r20
I'm finalized my settings i am just hoping i have it all stable even though we run those benches it doesn't mean anything
Real bench /Prime but normally i used intel burn test and intels extreme tools
most of the time though if you pass most benchmarks without errors you are pretty much good to go stressing is good for stability of course but you can stress it others ways and find out
