I'm running a combination of 3.0 and 4.0. Other than benchmarks, don't experience any day to day improvements.
It makes minimal difference yes but i am referencing my drives are on the Aged side where a freaking WD-Black Nvme could beat me lol that's pathetic

The WD Black NVME's are awesome. I have 3 of the SN750's and 1 of the SN850's. Right on par with Samsung in my opinion.

Just curious. Why not an X570 board?

Wanted to try the 550, seems to perform well from what I read. I wanted the X570 CH8 Dark but scalpers charging 600 for a 400 dollar board made the 550 more appealing. Wanted that ROG Bios

Nice set you picked there, my ram is in my specs

Edit: Do you mean you cant manually set RAM?
Yes every speed is listed in the drop down list but I think with the new ram you have to have xmp enabled as per description below

(Base Timings: 15-15-15-36; Overclock timing with XMP 2.0 enabled Tested Timings: 19-19-19-39)

Might want to check this topic out...

    ASUS motherboard RAM timings problem

This is what I finally ended up with...
I used the XMP spec in CPU-Z (which was also the manufacturer's timings @ 3200Mhz), as a guide.
I did NOT enable DOCP or XMP in the BIOS.

Gskill said the frequency and timings were... 3200Mhz 14-14-14-34 at 3.5v

I set the BIOS to CPU-Z's XMP spec and it wasn't stable. So I "guessed" at the DRAM RAS# PRE Time setting, and everything got nice and stable.

When I first put the 4000Mhz ram in one of my windows partition stopped working but the win gaming partition still worked but now have xmp 1 profile on & seems stable no programs crashing yet !
