I've been looking at the RTX 3070 as I'm considering getting a better GPU than my twin RX 580s. I like what the 3070 has to offer (still can't buy one though - grrrrr), but I saw an ad for the Radeon RX 6800 XT. According to a couple of comparison sites the 6800 blows the 3070 out of the water:

UserBenchmark: AMD RX 6800-XT vs Nvidia RTX 3070

RX 6800 XT vs RTX 3070 Game Performance Benchmarks (Core i9-10900K vs Core i9-10900K) - GPUCheck United States / USA

The 3070 is supposed to be cheaper, though I can't get CDN prices on either one as of yet, but I'm wondering if I should be comparing to the 3080 instead? Overall, I've been pretty happy with AMD for the past number of years and I use an AMD platform, so I like the idea of everything being the same.

So if the 3080 and 6800 XT are roughly the same price, I'm struggling with the decision. Or would the 3070 be adequate? Thoughts anyone?

Except for very few games, twin GPUs are pretty much useless. With those two 580s you are looking at maybe 1 and 1/4 Rx 580 which makes it what, Rx 590 ? If you could sell them it should bring you to at least half price to let's say 6800x.

I found this quick benchmark tester on Microsoft Store which is usefull but it tried to offer me a Samsung PCi 3.0 m.2 drive instead on its links.

It does suggest I go to 64gb of ram which I am thinking of doing as its not just a gamer for me.

? Can some other people try it to compare ?

Are you using DRAM-Calculator-for-Ryzen-1.7.3 by 1usmus or freelancing with memory settings ? also wondering what happened to him, didn't release anything in a month.
