It's just too bad that we cannot get our hands on the 5000 series processors. LOL

I can find all except 5600x which sells out as fast as it comes but now I can't afford 5800x as my pension didn't arrive since May and in a month or so will have to go to Hunger wars mode.

I just shot you over a PM. I'm looking for a 5900x or 5950x, if you have a place that has them in stock, I'm all ears. Not willing to pay scalpers who are looking for a markup. I'll wait them out.

I know this might be unpopular opinion but a 5950x vs 3950x isn't that big of a leap i am seeing that the upgrade isn't worth it even with CPU+GPU combinations.

Overclocking a 3950x in CCX will give the out of the box performance from the 5950x in PBO
only thing i notice here is they pumped up the IPC in gaming i am running 100hrz monitor i see 200+fps in Overwatch and Triple A titles like Horizon zero dawn running at 135-140fps i have come to figure out the slight better ipc isn't worth it this time around i'll wait for their next platform.

If i found a 5900 or 5950x cheap down the road sure but for now it makes zero sense unless you're building new upgrading isn't worth bragging rights on a Benchmark board the overclocking is probably insane but that chip is already busting it's guts out as it is hard to see getting more from it.

Well, the primary reason I am waiting for the 5xxx series is because my 13 yo son already has a Ryzen 3800x, so I was planning to build mine on the new platform to see the impact for ourselves.

My previous build is ancient, from 2009. Running a Core 2 Quad 9550. When my son built his Ryzen 3800x, I took his previous Intel Core i5-6500 (Skylake, 4 core, no hyperthreading), and an EVGA 1060 FTW. So, it's going to be a rather large upgrade for me. We would never even consider upgrading his Ryzen 3800X. It's been terrific.

As sad as it is, waiting out the parts is going to allow me to piece out my parts a little bit and pay the money in chunks as I have it and I can hopefully get most things on sale.
