Too good to be true ... ?
PC World used to be a reputable computer magazine ... but is PCWorld the same PC World? Probably not given the results of a Whois search for pcworld.com.
Could be on-selling already used license keys. They work (activate) on installation giving the user false hope, but get blocked later on when MS catches up (often during an update process)
I'm suspicious, but .....
One of the above graphics indicates a link to the cleverbridge web page, a reputable site through which I've purchased other software (you don't buy direct from cleverbridge.com, they just provide the payment and download management service).
Hmmm, not sure, don't know ....?
I personally thought the site looked a bit ‘iffy’, PC World is a respected Magazine in the UK (same as ComputerActive) but I’d expect their webstore to use the same wording as the magazine.
However searching for PC World does take me to their website pcworld, if you then click on the ‘deals>software store you reach this: PCWorld Software Store - discounted downloadable software where there is an offer for Win 10 Pro for $39.99.
What do you guys think of the offers on ebay there selling Windows pro 64 for a few £££, are they illegal copies? As the people selling them on it say there genuine...?
I wouldn't trust it might be a enterprise copy with many keys you don't know
Some members here and i use that loosely once in a while comes up with free keys that are legit
But if your key was a Windows 7 or 8 Key their should still be a upgrade available even though i recall they were going to stop it
No such thing as an illegal copy (of Windows 10) ... it's the key that's sold that's likely to be illegal.
It might work on installation, but it would only be a matter of time before Microsoft tracked it down and de-activated the installation.
eBay (and amazon) make no warranty on the efficacay of the sellers who use their platform(s).
Why would you want to buy, anyway? It's still free to download. Just rattle up an old Windows 7 key that hasn't been used.
The offers are still going
pcworld is now 79.99
PCWorld Software Store - Windows 10 Professional - 55% off MSRP
computeractive 39.99
Computeractive Software Store - Windows 10 Professional - 80% off RRP
