That configuration assumes the drive isn't being laid flat on a surface where the drive slides into place. Also that there's room on the top to handle a large heatsink. That's my point
Here's an example of what I'm saying. My NVMe drives sit under those covers....
BUT YES.... there are special designs the allow such things. OK.
For an add on sink I'd be good with a single sided one but I'm not so hot on the rubber band idea shown. Perhaps a double sided style - variant. The M.2 slot on the board I bought is between the cpu & 1st pcie 3.0 slot. I'm thinkin sticking with the H60 cooler gives me the advantage of no hot air off the cpu so secondary airflow becomes more important.
